Hey! I'm Lucy, the woman behind the lens.
A bit about me
I'm a Hampshire based photographer and I've been working as a nurse in Southampton for the last 10 years, in a mixture of jobs across Neuro and ICU. So I've spent the last decade in fast paced, high pressure environments where every moment matters.
I'm an overthinker and a sensitive soul, but I'm also very much a seize-the-moment kind of person. I don't enjoy the faff and I can be quite impulsive (sometimes to the amusement of my more sensible husband).
Side story - One of our first trips together was to Prague, less than six weeks into our relationship. We were waiting for a tram when one pulled up. In all the excitement of exploring somewhere new, I went to get on "Let's just get on any tram!!"
He stopped me... “Hang on, lets err on the side of caution here!"
He said later on that while he enjoyed my spontaneity, he wanted to know where we were actually heading first. Sensible, really. Ever since, whenever I’m about to make a slightly excitable or impulsive decision, I’m reminded: “You can’t just get on any tram, you know.”
I digress! Anyway, like most nurses, we’ve all asked each other, “What would you be doing if you weren’t nursing?” My answer always had a creative thread running through it. Then, earlier this year, I found myself wondering: why don’t I pick up my camera again? What began as a quiet “what if?” quickly became something I couldn’t stop thinking about and have developed a real passion for.
My photography sits somewhere between relaxed and refined. I’m drawn to genuine connection, movement and the moments in between — giving you enough direction to feel comfortable without taking away the spontaneity. I want your photographs to feel effortless, warm and considered, while still looking and feeling like you.
Natural light, warm tones and storytelling with an editorial edge, sit at the heart of what I do.
I've always been creative (if it's in HobbyCraft I've probably tried it), but photography is the one thing that's truly stuck. I've also always struggled to verbalise my thoughts at times and I've always been a very visual learner and teacher..."Can I draw a picture for you or perform an interpretive dance?". So perhaps photography was always going to make sense.
When I'm not behind the camera, you'll usually find me with my incredibly supportive husband or attempting to take yet another photo of my two rescue dogs (who are very used to being models now).
If you’re looking for photographs that feel natural, personal and timeless, I’d love to hear from you.
Thanks for stopping by.

This or that?

Tea or Coffee?
Always coffee!
I'm grateful to know a total coffee nerd who is always happy to give me recommendations for best coffee spots nearby!
Heels or Flats?
I'm all for comfort - I live in my Birkenstocks (except over Winter!)
Forest or Beach?
I love the beach. But as I don't live close enough to one for it to be a regular thing, the forest wins on practicality — and luckily, there are plenty of beautiful woods to explore nearby.
Summer or Autumn?
Impossible choice!
Summer gives me golden hour, long evenings and warm weather, but autumn brings all the warm colours, golden leaves and crunchy walks.
Can I have both?

Most Likely To
Get excited about an idea and immediately decide I need to do it.
And my perfect day...
Includes my husband and my dogs, a lovely morning walk followed by breakfast and cake and then an evening session at Nirvana Spa.
Perfect!

Let's Chat

I love working with people and brands whose values align with mine.
My approach is relaxed, easy-going and designed to make your session feel comfortable and fun. I’ll give you enough direction when you need it, but I don’t believe in over-structuring every moment.
I prefer to leave room for things to unfold naturally — especially when little ones are involved. Sometimes the best photographs happen when you stop trying to make everything perfect and simply go with the flow.
If you think we'd be a good fit, I'd love to chat.
